Returns, Exchanges, Cancellations, and Rescheduling Effective June 1, 2011
Merchandise Returns and Exchanges
Merchandise that has not been used or removed from it’s packaging and is priced at less than $100 can be returned for credit or a full refund or exchanged for the same item (different size or attribute) within 7 days. Merchandise over $100 will incur a 7% credit card refund fee within 7 days. Merchandise that has been used cannot be returned or exchanged. Merchandise that has been opened but not used can be returned for a refund or credit minus a 15% restocking fee within 7 days. No returns, refunds, credits or exchanges after 7 days or for special orders or sale items.
Program Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy
All programs require cash, check, or credit card payment to secure reservation. 60 days or more prior... a 50% deposit must be paid in order to hold spaces. 60 days or less prior... payment in full must be paid and all open balances must be settled in order to hold spaces. Channel Islands Outfitters (CIO) is a professional outfitting company that contracts with several other professional companies to deliver your program. When you make a reservation CIO begins planning for your program by securing the necessary campsites, ferry seats, equipment, and guides. If you must cancel or reschedule your program reservation we require written notice via email to reservations@channelislandso.com. Once CIO receives written notice a full credit will be issued as long as we receive written notice 14 or more days prior to your program departure date and time or if you just need to change the date we will just move your reservation to another date that works better (if space is available) as long as it’s prior to 14 days of your departure. If a Refund is requested a 5% transaction fee will be subtracted from the total refund for transactions over $200.
Weather Cancellations: If CIO has to cancel due to weather, CIO will reschedule if possible or a full credit or full refund is given which-ever is preferred. If you travel to the islands and your guide cancels the kayaking portion of your trip due to weather, you will be lead on a guided hike and receive a $50 refund or credit. Member Intro SUP and/or Kayak lessons will be rescheduled for a future date until the weather cooperates.
Group Reservations: In order to receive group pricing, the payment must come from one party. Group sizes are confirmed 14 days prior to the program date. Participants can be added to the group up to departure date if space is available however participants that cannot attend within the 14 day window are non-refundable. We will do our best to issue credit for the participants that are unable to attend, but unfortunately we cannot make any promises due to third-party obligations. If the group size is modified before the 14 day window and this changes the group pricing rate, the per person rate will change with respect to the new group size.
Rental Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy
Payment by credit card is required for all rental reservations. NO REFUNDS on rentals or rental reservations will be given unless cancelled due to weather. If a rental is cancelled due to weather prior to rental departure, a credit or refund will be issue which-ever is prefered. Renters that do not claim their equipment within 15 minutes of the pick-up time will forfeit the equipment and can only reschedule to rent the equipment the same day as the rental pick-up, no refunds for rentals that are not rescheduled the same day as the pick-up time. IF RED LIGHT conditions occur during a rental and CIO staff/guides or other brings the rental in early, a 50% credit will be issued for a future rental.
Lesson Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy
If the customer has paid for instruction they have to cancel within the 14 day cancellation period. If it's a membership promo and they cancel within 48 hours they lose the free promo and will have to pay for the rescheduled lesson. If we cancel due to weather, rescheduling is free.

We respect the privacy of our customers. All information submitted to CIO will not be sold or distributed to any third parties. By submitting your email to Paddle Sports you agree to be enlisted in our email list for specials and discounts. You may choose to not receive these emails at any time by contacting us by phone or by email. All other information is entered into our trip database to make booking your second and third event much easier.

CIO's Children's Policy
Except for event data applicable to children, we do not intend to collect any personally identifiable information from children through our web sites. Please do not allow children under the age of 18 to provide any personally identifiable information.

Channel Islands Outfitters Inc. s officially licensed by the National Park Service for kayak operations at all Channel Islands National Park locations. This license does not allow us to guide hiking or snorkeling. All activities other than kayaking are provided as unguided services. There are no food permits issued at any Channel Islands National Parks, no kayak company is allowed to prepare food for consumption by paying clients.
Paddle Sports assumes no responsibility for guests after the guided kayaking service has ended. Campers are responsible for their own food, camping gear, and disposal of waste while at the Channel Islands National Park. Paddle Sports will make every attempt to inform you of your ferry departure from the Island, however it is ultimately your responsibility to be on time for the ferry.
