Re-Define the Word "Cruise"
Leave the casinos behind. Let the setting sun be your cabaret, this is not your typical cruise. Start thinking of white sandy beaches, crystal clear water, mysterious sea caves, fresh seafood, and warm company. No more than 20 people on this ship. Ports of call include remote coves, ancient forests, and the largest sea caves in the world. After this trip when someone says "cruise", you feel transported just thinking of the untouched beauty that surrounded you each day as you journeyed around the Channel Islands National Park. Explore California's Galapagos Islands
Kayaking
Sea kayaking is the perfect way to navigate off-shore waters at each of the Channel Islands. Yet one of the biggest obstacles with kayaking here is getting here. Lucky for you, we take care of that. All you need is a sense of adventure. Explore each of the four islands from a close and low-impact sea kayak.
Guides
You will be in the company of experienced Channel Islands kayak guides at all times when on the water. Client to guide ratio is 8:1. Guides will explain cave formations, cultural and natural signifigant areas and give basic kayak instruction. It is our pleasure to show you this amazing National Park.
Kayaks and Gear
We will provide you with Sit-On-Top kayaks and the gear necessary to paddle in semi-temperate water conditions (NRS Farmer Bill wetsuit, Kokatat Tropos Jacket, Kokatat Outfit PFD's, Pro-Tech Helmets). You may request closed-deck kayaks when making a reservation, or you may bring your own. Keep in mind, guides may restrict cave access to those kayaking in closed-deck sea kayaks.
Sea Caves
Santa Cruz Island and Anacapa Island host over 250 sea caves, collectively, that are negotiable by sea kayak. Depending on the current conditions, your guides will escort you safely into as many of these caves as possible. We will provide you with helmets, and each guide carries a cave light for illumination.
