These trips do not require any previous kayaking experience, but y ou must know how to swim. We will teach you kayaking basics and how to re-enter your kayak prior to getting on the water.

Our Guides:
Paddle Sports employs and trains friendly outdoor professionals that specialize in leading and teaching groups of kayakers with little or no experience.

Kids:
We can accomodate all ages over 5. Children under 12 will be in tandem kayaks with their parent or guardian for the duration of the trip.

4-7 miles
Cost:
$120 per person - does not include boat fare or campsite. Particpants must already be camping on island for the morning departure.

Trip Overview
Rendezvous at Scorpion Anchorage: All participants for the trip must be campers on Santa Cruz Island the morning of the tour.  This tour is offered on Saturday and Sunday mornings, but is available on request on other days as well. Our Potato Harbor tour requires that campers already be on Santa Cruz Island at Scorpion Anchorage on the morning of the departure.

Kayaking and Lunch: Following a rendezvous with a guide on Santa Cruz Island, kayakers launch from Scorpion Anchorage and paddle east. As kayakers pass Cavern Point, they begin to explore remote sea caves. Upon reaching Potato Harbor, paddlers have a chance to enjoy their picnic lunch or hike along the shore which is only accessable from the water.

Departing the Island: This tour does not include ferry tickets with Island Packers. Ferry tickets and campsite reservations may be purchased through the Channel Islands Outfitters reservations office by calling 805-899-4925.
