This is Paddle Sports' most popular coastal adventure!

With kayaks and bikes, we travel between two of California's most beautiful state parks; El Capitan State Beach and Refugio State Beach. Experience the beauty of this special stretch of coastline, just a short distance north of Santa Barbara(15 minute drive).

Our day starts at Refugio State Park with a quick lesson on the basic skills of sea kayaking. With the wind and current behind us, we start our 3-mile journey down the coast to El Capitan. We will paddle through lush kelp beds and past secluded beaches, hoping to spot lounging sea otters, playful dolphins, curious sea lions, and the many sea birds that live in the area. Our friendly, knowledgeable guides expound on the amazing natural and cultural history of the Santa Barbara Channel, and this undeveloped stretch of coast.

When we land at picturesque El Capitan State Beach, our trip is only half over! After a quick lunch break, we hop on our bicycles and enjoy a leisurely ride back to Refugio. The bike ride follows a paved bike path along the bluffs, providing a scenic vista of the Santa Barbara Channel.
