These trips do not require any previous kayaking experience, but y ou must know how to swim. We will teach you kayaking basics and how to re-enter your kayak prior to getting on the water.

Our Guides:
Paddle Sports employs and trains friendly outdoor professionals that specialize in leading and teaching groups of kayakers with little or no experience.

Kids:
We can accomodate all ages over 5. Children under 12 will be in tandem kayaks with their parent or guardian for the duration of the trip.

Island Packers Company will be your transportation to Santa Cruz Island. Paddle Sports' has taken care of your transportation. When you arrive in the Ventura Harbor the morning of your trip, you will find your guide at the top of the loading ramp. Your guide will be loading gear, so please be patient. Your guide will be wearing red or Paddle Sports attire, they will give you your boarding pass and retrieve your Release of Liability form, please have that ready. The Island Packers crew will announce a boarding call 15 minutes prior to departure, hand your boarding pass to a crew member and take a seat on the ferry.

You will be arriving a Santa Cruz Island, Scorpion Anchorage. Gather your day gear and unload the ferry. An Island Ranger will greet you and give you a quick talk about the island. Walk to the bottom of the canyon wall and find the red kayaks. This is where you will keep you gear for the day.

Please find the kayaks and your guide before you use the bathroom. If you are camping, bring your camping gear to the red kayaks, DO NOT go find a campsite, you can do this after the kayaking trip.
