Getting There
All Santa Barbara Island trips begin by meeting at the ferry (Island Packers) in the Ventura Harbor on the morning of your trip. After checking in we will board a 64-foot, high- speed catamaran and depart for the island.
The channel crossing takes approximately two and-a-half hours depending on the sea conditions and wildlife we encounter along the way. Santa Barbara Channel waters are rich with marine life -- dolphins and sea lions abound. In the spring and fall, migrating whales are frequently spotted during our crossing to the island.

The Guided Tour
Santa Barbara Island is the smallest island in the National Park. This rugged island is the perfect size for a one-day circumnavigation. Weather permitting, we will paddle around this infrequently visited isle encountering caves, arches, profuse wildlife, and solitude. This 6 mile paddle takes you entirely around the island. This trip only runs during the summer months.
Santa Barbara Island offers a very intimate view of elephant seals and other pinipeds. Bring along your waterproof camera and take some amazing pictures of these fabulous animals on secluded beaches. We must maintain a 100 yard distance from all wildlife at all National Park Locations.

Notes:
(1) 2 Person minimum on this trip. If you are a party of one, you must call and reserve a space on a trip with 2 or more people.
(2) NPS Campsites are under a Paddle Sports reservation. 6 people, 2 tents per site max. No campfires. Alcohol is permitted for responsible campers. All trash must be carried out, so please plan accordingly.

(4) Third day of kayaking is subject to available spaces on Scorpion Caves and Coves Tour.
(5) Paddle Sports is not licensed to guide snorkeling. We can, however, suggest some amazing spots where you can look at the crystal clear wilderness below your kayak or on your own time from the beach.
